A Place to Just Be a Kid

“The Woodlands is a place where I can send Noah to just be a kid.”

Those words came from the mother of one of our participants, Noah, during a recent interview for UPMC’s “Life Changing Is” campaign. They capture something simple yet profound about the impact of The Woodlands. For many children, making friends, trying new activities, and building confidence are natural parts of growing up. For children and adults living with disability and chronic illness, those opportunities can be harder to find.

At The Woodlands, they become possible.

Each year, more than 1,700 participants experience camp, recreation, friendship, and a sense of belonging through programs at The Woodlands. As demand grows, so do the number of families waiting for these life-changing opportunities.

Sometimes life-changing is something extraordinary.

Sometimes life-changing is simply having a place where you can just be a kid.

This season, your year-end gift will help ensure that more children and adults can experience the friendship, confidence, and belonging that families like Noah’s have found at The Woodlands. Make your year-end gift today and help provide a place where every participant can thrive.
