How will GivingTuesday funds be used?
Contributions to The Woodlands GivingTuesday Campaign will support The Woodlands’ mission to enrich the lives of children and adults with disability and chronic illness.
Is my GivingTuesday contribution tax deductible?
Yes. Your contribution is a charitable gift to The Woodlands.
Please note that the passage of the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) includes provisions that assist individuals who make charitable donations. These provisions:
- Allow all taxpayers to take charitable deductions of up to $300, even if you do not itemize.
- Waive the requirement for required minimum distributions (RMD) from retirement plan accounts for 2020. However, individuals age 70 ½ and older may still make Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from their IRA account of up to $100,000 in 2020. Please consult your tax professional for advice.
- Allow for cash contributions to qualified charities such as ours to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income.
Does my GivingTuesday contribution count as my end of year gift?
Yes. The Woodlands GivingTuesday Campaign is part of our overall year-end giving efforts.
