The Woodlands programs are getaways designed to be fun! There’s nothing quite like joining in our group events, camps or clubs to open minds, challenge comfort zones, overcome barriers and forge new friendships. No one is left on the sidelines.
Here, differences don’t mean limitations and everyone is encouraged to discover a whole new world of possibilities and independence. Our programs offer safe, inclusive experiences that provide enrichment for participants with all disabilities – while caregivers have a chance for a welcome respite.

Important Announcement

Dear Friends,

With the many restrictions related to social distancing, group sizes, masking, and the ever changing uncertainty about how to safely be together, as an organization we must manage the information we have in conjunction with our number one priority—the safety of our participants and our team. We will continue to meet with our Medical Director and our Safety and Quality Assurance Committee to determine our 2021 reopen date.

We recognize how important The Woodlands experience is for those we serve, families, and caregivers and share in the disappointment of this news. We will continue to work on developing alternate programming, including building on the success of the virtual Notes from the Heart Program model, offering a virtual transition curriculum-based program, creating a virtual health and wellness program, and instituting “coffee talks” for parents and caregivers, among other ideas. Additional information about our virtual programming options this fall will be released by September 10th.

We welcome your input and ideas and are appreciative of the survey responses we have received thus far—we will continue to engage you as we move forward with our planning.

Until then, please know that The Woodlands’ staff remain committed to helping those we serve imagine the possibilities, and are looking at this period of time as an opportunity to develop innovative and impactful programming that will enhance our continuum of care going forward.
