Get your game on! The Woodlands has two weeks of Sports Camp. One week is for young adults, ages 22 – 29 and the other for adults ages 30 and up. The Woodlands strongly believes in the therapeutic benefits associated with maintaining a full and active lifestyle and strives to provide individuals with disabilities access to a wide variety of high-quality recreational opportunities. Woodlands instructors are trained to work with people of all abilities and have vast knowledge of adapted equipment and adapted teaching methods. This program brings individuals with disabilities or chronic illness the benefits of physical activity and the emotional lift of competing and being part of a team. The Woodlands Sports Camps teach valuable lessons about winning and losing. Adaptive equipment is available for all sports and activities.
Additional benefits include refinement of motor skills, encouragement of individual goal setting and learning more about healthy lifestyles through nutrition and exercise. Woodlands Sports Camps provide the opportunity for participants to play hard, compete, develop sporting skills and socialize. The individuals that participate in the Woodlands Sports Camps gain confidence, fitness and independence.
